It was a bit overcast, threatening rain most of the day but a still nice day. Chuck, the owner of "Briar Patch" came by about 10:30 to finish up the paperwork on the incident. We reached an agreement on the dollar value of the damages and cash was exchanged. With that out of the way, Beth and I decided to head to the grocery store. The closest good store is about 2 1/2 miles away so we hooked up the little trailer to the bike and headed off. About 2/3 of the way there, the front tire on Beth's bike went flat.
Emergency repairs were not possible as the valve stem was pretty much coming off the tube so Beth walked it the rest of the way. She started the shopping while I rode to Kmart to pick up a new tube and the necessary lights to make our bikes legal.
I replaced the tube while she was in Winn Dixie and we were ready to go again. Beth apparently wanted to see just how much the little trailer could hold as she had filled the grocery basket. I was amazed that she was able to get everything in the trailer and when I say it was stuffed, it was overstuffed.
We went by Home Depot on the way back to pick up a few things so I could finish the shade project and we rode back to the dock. The ride back was uneventful and after unpacking the trailer and loading it all on the boat, we setteled in for a relaxing evening. I grilled steaks for dinner and started planning our departure. We have decided to make the jump to Mexico after an overnight in the Dry Tortugas. We are just waiting on some final paperwork from the insurance company and the right weather. In the meantime, I will finish a few projects on the boat and we will go to Sand Key for a day of snorkleing and fishing.
