We have just been relaxing in paradise. We are going to be here for a little while as the SPOT tracking device has been diagnosed as defective and has to be sent back. In the meantime, we will be relaxing in the sun, enjoying the nightlife, and working on the boat. After being on the boat for 6 weeks, there are little things that we want to add to make it more comfortable.
The dinghy is all ready and legal so that will no longer be an issue. We rode our bikes out to dinner and a show last night and found out that lights are required in Key West on bikes after dark. When we go shopping tomorrow, we will pick some up. Always want to comply with the local authorities.
Our camera, the little one that we generally carry around broke and is also being sent back for repairs. Lugging the bigger one around is kind of a pain but we will make the effort to show you some pictures of the local area.
Island time had a slightly different meaning in Key West compared to other places we have been. Key West apparently has its own time zone and schedule and nothing gets done quickly.
We are also studying the weather and waiting for the opportunity to cross the gulf and go to Mexico. It is 300 miles and we want a really good weather window before making the crossing.
We are planning to take to boat out to a couple of the keys and do some fishing and snorkeling before we go.
